WebMay 31, 2024 · Japan was the powder coat of the early 1900's and most of the early fans I work on have that finish. It's a asphaltum based coating (black or brick red only) that requires baking. A couple of the guys in the fan club have perfected the technique using a product called Pontypool and are doing jobs for the other members now.
