Bottom of skirt 0.0061 to 0.0046 Clearances are measured at 90 degrees to the wrist pin (i.e. on the thrust faces of the piston) by inserting a narrow feeler gauge. Webb18 nov. 2024 · Ac. Re-measured it tonight and got exactly the same for the bore diameters (71.12mm), measuring the pistons I get one at 71.08mm and the other 3 at 71.09mm. So is 0.03 clearance, so the difference in diameters should be 0.076mm ( 3 thou) so pistons being 71.09mm and then the bore should be honed to 71.16mm. Webb8 nov. 2024 · When I look in the brown book I see the minimum size for a Grade A bore is 74.689mm and the maximum piston top size for a grade A piston is 75.595mm which is 0.094mm/0.004" clearance and I presume therefore suggests that 0.1mm would be a minimum working tolerance. Would 0.1mm or 0.004” be enough clearance once the … Webb30 apr. 2009 · Basically, the piston is a Ford FE 390 piston with the top cut down for use with the longer stroke 428 crank. Can't rememebr the specs, but it is a Crane Fireball cam, am running 9.5:1 CR, have twin (progressive) Holley 600s and Crane's estimate for HP was 480Hp, although I think that's optomistic and would require perfect tuning. buford ga population
