WebI notice 5+0 used to be a popular blitz time control in the days before increment, and remains so today. I pretty much never play without increment because prefer playing out long endgames to being flagged in a better position. Just know the rules before agreeing to a game. If there's no increment, expect to be flagged some of the time.
